DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a bilingual Credit Director who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Credit Department and risk management. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills.
Reporting to the VP Corporate Development & Operations, but working in a team environment the Credit Director will be responsible for the company’s credit risk management.
RESPONSABILITÉS
- Processing and approving credit applications within personal approval authority level or submit decisions to manager for final approval if outside approval level;
- Actively manage a portfolio of current and prospective customer accounts by analyzing financial statements, reviewing credit/industry reports, blocking of orders, monitor and resolve daily over credit limit violations, suspending credit privileges;
- Work with our customers to establish positive customers relations and negotiate solutions to mitigate the risk of loss to the organization;
- Analyze aging trends and take appropriate action to ensure quality of receivables is maintained or improved;
- Responsible for the maintenance and updating of credit files on new and existing customers and compliance within credit policy;
- Recommend, obtain, and renew, as necessary a variety of security instruments including UCC filings, Letter of Credit, Credit Insurance, Personal Guarantees;
- Active participation in special projects as required.
COMPÉTENCES REQUISES
- Bilingualism is required (French/English); both spoken and written;
- Credit Designation and University Degree in the following areas: Finance or Business Administration;
- Minimum 7+ years of Commercial Credit experience;
- Minimum of 5 years Supervisory / Management experience required;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with various personalities and the ability to deal with confrontational situations ;
- A solid understanding of financial statement analysis
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills;
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task ;
- Strong computer knowledge (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) ;
- Comfortable presenting to Management and Dealers ;
- Knowledge of retail and/or franchise operations is an asset ;
- Previous exposure to working with Dealers and Dealer Groups is considered an asset.
